My 94 Stealth with a manual transmission needs some work and I've been told by several mechanics in my area that they cannot work on JET transmissions because they don't have the tools. Are there mechanics that actually can work on these transmissions and where the hell are they?
Hi,
I'm searching for

Please Help
Thank You
I load them and it's kinda scary to me that the only time we put on a saftey device is when we are handeling them. Then the device comes off. But, we can be working on other parts of the jet with the BDU33's there with no C-blocks. Why? It's really really windy where I am stationed and I get worried that the wind will throw a tumble weed bush against it, or someone will drop a tool and it will bounce and hit it and set it off. Also, when removing the C-blocks some people take off the one closest to them and reach infront of it (now armed) and take off the other one from the bomb next to it? Can just brushing ur arm against the armed BDU set it off.
Am I just paranoid?
Also, what does it stand for? None of the sites I've been to actually say what that acronym stands for. I know it's a "dumb bomb" and a practice bomb for the MK82, but what does BDU stand for? (and not battle dress uniform, not THAT BDU)
I keep getting a very loud clicking sound every now and then. It isn't constant but it keeps coming up every few seconds. And my wife says that she is getting a whooshing sound that , sounds like a jet starting. She is using earphones by the way.
She has a labtop with cam and mic built in form Toshiba (we have never had problems with) and I am on a new Desktop,I am also using a Logitech QuickCam Communicate Stx Webcam w/ a microphone ........
Does anybody have any idea why this is happening and what we can do to fix it. It makes it impossible for us to talk to each other. She has to use the earphones by the way because she is in a library. I tried using the Audio and Video tools part on the MSN Live Messenger and it says everything is fine on that end.
The only thing I can think of is the Logitech Webcam ....But I don't know.....So any help would be appreciated .
Mike
No it's not the sound of someone new coming online. It's between a whoosh and a loud jet like noise. I can hear it too a little, but I mostly get the clicking. The main problem is that it is hurting her ears when these sounds happen because she needs to use the earphones in the library. And volume adjustment with the speakers, earphones and mic. Do nothing to help the problem.
I appreciate the comment but I think your off on this one though. It has to be an actual problem with the program , computer or Webcam.
Its a 1998? Yamaha Jet Ski, not sure if that's the right year, or know the model, but I'm just looking for a general cost range of the parts I would need to rebuild the TOP END of the engine. And would I need any special tools to rebuild it?
So:
1) Cost of all the parts?
2) Any special tools needed? and how much would they cost?
3) How much time do you think it would take me to rebuild it if I worked on it for a couple hrs a day, everyday? (I'm by no means a mechanic, but I have general knowledge of how engines work, I would be fine by myself as long as I have a diagram of how it all goes together)
There is a tool that I have used to 'purge', or 'prime' my swimming pool filter. It fits to the end of a garden hose, usually black in color. Has metal on both ends, and the middle is made of rubber, about 8 inches long.
Once the water is turned on, the rubber part inflates to a solid rubber ball, about 5-6 inches in diameter. The purpose of the tool, is to seal off a pipe (in this case, it is the water intake port on the side of the pool, under the water) and force any air in the system out the other end with a jet of water.
This sounds more confusing than it is, its rather simple but hard to explain. Does anyone know the NAME of this tool?? If so, please respond! 10 POINTS TO THE CORRECT/BEST ANSWER!
Thanks in advance!

Still looking for the actual tool, but it looks identical to that without the metal coil around the center. Rather than a garden hose its thick, black rubber.
Looking for a picture along with the name. I will keep looking! Thanks for the answers, I will give whoever's idea is closest the best answer.
*** Answered*** Thanks Dusty! That was exactly what I needed!!! Thanks again to everyone
We started a local bike repair shop, jet skis and the like. He had no prior knowledge of the industry whatsoever, he just liked them. We went in on a 3 year lease together. He got all the business documents in his name without my knowledge and we had us a shop. Mind you all the equipment, tools, part accounts, and all product knowledge is mine. He was never around then starting hanging out a few days a week. He put up about 10K for initial parts and inventory for the walls. In the meantime we talked about getting everything on paper as far as what our roles were. We never did, he now wants his money back stating he wants now over 27K. For projected earnings and profit. At the 3 month mark he took out his personal belongings and hasn't been around since. I am here 6 days a week, haven't taken dollar 1 in order to keep the doors open. What can I do? Do I leave? Go elsewhere? What am I legally obligated for? Nothing is in writing anywhere about anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Another Science Friday question. Define Evolution. Best answer gets 10 points.
My definition:
I stopped at my buddy's house and he had the carburetor off of his dirt bike and was rummaging around in his tool box for parts. "Whatchya doing?" I asked. "Looking for a smaller main jet to lean out the carb." He responded. "I'm trying to get a few more evolutions out of the motor."
I guess that i think of neanderthall man with his rocks as tools and wonder if he really could advance to the stage of creating huge jets which fly at incredible speeds or mobile phones with their ability to send words. Then there is tv,radio, video recorders, automobiles and the list goes on and on and on.All this came from the ground. Its either all part of a mass illusion(dreams feel as real as life so why not??)or we have had help from other sources of intelligence which are not human.I really don't know but i'd like to hear some thoughts.
So its not just good enough to destroy the economy, now President Obama has take his show on the road and is trying to destroy the universe. What say you?
Huge gamma-ray blast spotted 12.2 bln light-years from earth
The spectacular blast, which occurred in September in the Carina constellation, produced energies ranging from 3,000 to more than five billion times that of visible light, astrophysicists said.
"Visible light has an energy range of between two and three electron volts and these were in the millions to billions of electron volts," astrophysicist Frank Reddy of US space agency NASA told AFP.
"If you think about it in terms of energy, X-rays are more energetic because they penetrate matter. These things don't stop for anything -- they just bore through and that's why we can see them from enormous distances," Reddy said.
A team led by Jochen Greiner of Germany's Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics determined that the huge gamma-ray burst occurred 12.2 billion light years away.
The sun is eight light minutes from Earth, and Pluto is 12 light hours away.
Taking into account the huge distance from earth of the burst, scientists worked out that the blast was stronger than 9,000 supernovae -- powerful explosions that occur at the end of a star's lifetime -- and that the gas jets emitting the initial gamma rays moved at nearly the speed of light.
"This burst's tremendous power and speed make it the most extreme recorded to date," a statement issued by the US Department of Energy said.
Gamma-ray bursts are the universe's most luminous explosions, which astronomers believe occur when massive stars run out of nuclear fuel and collapse.
Long bursts, which last more than two seconds, occur in massive stars that are undergoing collapse, while short bursts lasting less than two seconds occur in smaller stars.
In short gamma-ray bursts, stars simply explode and form supernovae, but in long bursts, the enormous bulk of the star leads its core to collapse and form a blackhole, into which the rest of the star falls.
As the star's core collapses into the black hole, jets of material blast outward, boring through the collapsing star and continuing into space where they interact with gas previously shed by the star, generating bright afterglows that fade with time.
"It's thought that something involved in spinning up and collapsing into that blackhole in the center is what drives these jets. No one really has figured that out. The jets rip through the star and the supernova follows after the jets," Reddy said.
Studying gamma-ray bursts allows scientists to "sample an individual star at a distance where we can't even see galaxies clearly," Reddy said.
Observing the massive explosions could also lift the veil on more of space's enigmas, including those raised by the burst spotted by Fermi, such as a "curious time delay" between its highest and lowest energy emissions.
Such a time lag has been seen in only one earlier burst, and "may mean that the highest-energy emissions are coming from different parts of the jet or created through a different mechanism," said Stanford University physicist Peter Michelson, the chief investigator on Fermi's large area telescope.
"Burst emissions at these energies are still poorly understood, and Fermi is giving us the tools to understand them. In a few years, we'll have a fairly good sample of bursts and may have some answers," Michelson said.
The Fermi telescope and NASA's Swift satellite detect "in the order of 1,000 gamma-ray bursts a year, or a burst every 100,000 years in a given galaxy," said Reddy.
Astrophysicists estimate there are hundreds of billions of galaxies.
The Fermi gamma-ray space telescope was developed by NASA in collaboration with the US Department of Energy and partners including academic institutions in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden and the United States.
